David Leroy Conner

Mason & Ward Funeral Home announces the Home Going of Mr. David Leroy Conner, 49 of Oakwood on Monday January 17, 2011 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

David was born August 3, 1961. He was the beloved son of Joan Garrison Conner of Oakwood and the late Rev. James Leroy Conner. David has been a blessing to know and love. David was a born again christian and loved Jesus with all his heart. He was a member of the Oakwood Gospel Tabernacle.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother, the Rev. O.A. Garrison, Sr. and Myrtie Stargel Garrison; paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother, Lee Conner and Hazel Nixon Parks.

other survivors include his brother and sister-in-law; Joel and Kim Conner, Sugar Hill; niece, Catherine Conner, Gainesville; nephew, Derek James Conner, Sugar Hill; very special friend, Marie Ivy, Gainesville. a number of other relatives and special friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 20, 2011 at the Oakwood Gospel Tabernacle. The Rev. Gary Osteen and Dr. Kenneth Conner will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Mason & Ward Funeral Home Wednesday January 19, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again Thursday January 20, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
