Margaret Evelyn Holcomb

Obituary Date: Saturday, January 15, 2011
Visitation is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at Mason & Ward Funeral Home, Gainesville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Pine Crest Baptist Church for Ms. Margaret Holcomb, 87, of Gainesville.
Dr. Mike Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Ms. Holcomb died Saturday, January 15, 2011.
Ms. Holcomb was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. A retired schoolteacher, she taught at Oakwood Elementary School in Hall County for almost 40 years. She was a member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association, charter member of Hall County Breakfast Optimist Club and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Survivors include her sister Imogene Abell, Colombus, and brothers James H. Holcomb, Gainesville, and the Rev. Bill Holcomb, Villa Rica; sisters-in-law Ruth Holcomb, Villa Rica and June Holcomb, Gainesville; nephews P.L. Holcomb III, Joe Abell and Jock Abell; nieces Kathy Mathis, Laurie Holcomb, Emily Connan and Martha Lou Abell; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
