Cecile Pressley Stevenson

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Cecile Pressley Stevenson, age 98 of Hoschton, who passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Mrs. Stevenson was born on August 3, 1912 in Pickens, SC, a daughter to the late W. Lee Pressley and the late Estelle Thomas Pressley. Mrs. Stevenson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of Cross Roads Baptist Church for 50 years until she moved to Georgia to live with her daughter. In addition to teaching Sunday School and other church functions, she was a volunteer at Seneca Hospital, member of Oconee Country Garden Club, and the Teachers Retirement Club. She taught school in Pickens, Oconee and Anderson counties for 32 years. She was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, GA. Her husband, Frank Alexander Stevenson and her son, William Douglas Stevenson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Joyce and Fred Koth of Hoschton, GA, daughter in law, Pat Stevenson, West Union, SC, grandchildren Melanie Koth Reed (Charles W. Reed) of Hoschton, GA, Heather Koth, of Atlanta, GA, Tara Stevenson of Greenville, SC and Kristen Stevenson of Columbia, SC, great grandchildren, Morgan and Gary Reed of Hoschton, GA, brother in law, William T. Stevenson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 11am in the Blackshear Place Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Crook officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to the Youth Building Fund at Blackshear Place Baptist Church, 3428 Atlanta Highway, Flowery Branch, GA 30542.
