Chloe Gibson York

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Chloe Gibson York, age 92 of Kannapolis, N.C. formerly of Helen. Mrs. Gibson passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at CMC Northeast Medical Center in Concord, N.C. following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Friday, January 14, 2011 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Sloop and Rev. Brian McMasters officiating. Interment will follow in the Helen Cemetery.

Mrs. York was born in Clay County, North Carolina to the late Wiley Gibson and Dora Mason Gibson. She was a homemaker and is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford York, son, James York, sister, Mae Chastain and brothers Claude Gibson, Clyde Gibson and Clay Gibson.

Mrs. York is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Sloop and Janice Bryce both of Kannapolis, North Carolina, sister, Pearl Farmer of Clarkeville as well as 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm.
