John Bev "J. B." Anderson

John Bev "J. B." Anderson, 89, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday January 8, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born June 21, 1921 to the late Bev and Ethel Anderson, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Mr. Anderson retired from Lockheed and was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II where he served in the European Theater. He was the oldest deacon of New Bethel Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Anderson; sister, Olive Stegall; and brother, Ivan Anderson.

Surviving are his children, Curtis and Carolyn Anderson, Gainesville, Karen and Harold McCord, Dawsonville; sister, Rose Goswick, Buford; grandchildren, Brooke and Carrie Anderson, Whitney Anderson, Nathan and Jessica McCord; great grandchildren, Grace and Samuel Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Sunday January 16, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leonard W. Ridings, Rev. Johnny Eubanks, Rev. Bobby Whitmire, and Rev. Harold McCord will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
