Elzora Perkins O'Connell

ELZORA PERKINS O'CONNELL, age 90, a resident of Prattville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011.

Mrs. O'Connell was born in Habersham County, Georgia, on April 6, 1920, to the late Vance and Sallie Duckett Perkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. O'Connell Jr., sisters, Rachel Perkins, Serena Turk, Margie Perkins and Louise Perkins, brothers, John, Abb, Young, Robert, Tom, and Swenson Perkins. Mrs. O'Connell was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, John J. O'Connell, III and Rebecca, Prattville, Alabama; 2 grandchildren and spouses, Laura and Jeff Ellis and Ryan and Valorie Williams; 5 great-grandchildren, Emilee Ellis, Sara Grace Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis, Johan Ingram, and John Morgan Williams; 1 sister, Dixie Perkins, Atlanta, Georgia; 1 brother, Bynum Perkins, Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Gene Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
