Essie Gertrude Jackson

Essie Gertrude Jackson, age 75 of Cumming, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Essie is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Jackson; parents, William and Sara Dodd; infant daughter, Deanna Jackson; sister, Ida Mae Tallant and brother, Ronald Dodd.

She is survived by her children, Marie Jackson, Sheila Callahan, Kenneth Robinson John Jackson Jr. and Teresa Jackson all of Cumming; sisters and brothers, Shelba and Arthur Anderson, William and Marie Dodd, Herbert and Evelyn Dodd; sister-in-law, Martha Dodd; grandchildren, Allen Jackson, Johnny Brown, Steven Brown, John Jackson III, Chris Jackson, James Jackson, Jamie Jackson, Timothy Jackson, Waymon Robinson; great grandchildren, Lonnie Brown, Cody Brown, Natalie Brown, Amber Brown, Brennia Brown and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rocky Dodd and Rev. Ricky Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell Ga.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday, January 3, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
