Annie Belle Slaton

Annie Belle Slaton, 93, of Dawsonville passed away Friday December 31, 2010 at Chestatee Regional Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born August 1, 1917 to the late John and Ethel Robertson, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, for many years she and her husband operated a poultry farm. Mrs. Slaton was the oldest member of Harmony Baptist Church and she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Slaton, and six brothers.

Surviving are her children, Joe and Lillian Slaton, Dawsonville, Louise and Wayne Garrett, Gainesville, Glenn and Dianne Slaton, Kennesaw; grandchildren, Joey Slaton, Denise Grizzle, Paula Garrett, Chris Slaton, Greg Slaton; seven great grandchildren, a great great grandson, and special friends, Mary, Fannie and Brenda.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 3, 2011 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Gilbert will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 Sunday at the funeral home.
