Frances Chapman Reid

Frances Chapman Reid, age 89, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.



Mrs. Reid was born on October 17, 1921, in Gainesville, GA to the late Arthur J. and Ethel Mabel Parson Chapman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar "Edd" L. Reid, brother, Hiram "Rozzie" Newton Chapman. Mrs. Reid was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Homer, GA and retired from Habersham Mills with over 35 years of dedicated service.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Leon and Carlita Reid, Demorest, GA; sisters, Mary Magdalene "Madge" Chapman Turner, Homer, GA and Willoree Chapman Nix, Homer, GA, Pauline "Polly" Chapman Tench, Toccoa, GA and Doris Helen "Teddy" Chapman Taylor, Cornelia, GA; brother, Garnett Joseph Edward Chapman, Alto, GA; grandson, Edgar C. Reid, grandson Michael Leon Reid, Jr. and wife Candace Whitworth Reid and great-grandson, Howard Lucas Reid.



Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Swayne Carlan officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
