Richard W. Shivers

Richard W. Shivers, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday December 21, 2010 at UPAC of Lanier.

Born November 11, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Robert Edward and Sara Willcox Shivers, he had lived in Dawson County since 2006 having moved from West Palm Beach, FL. Mr. Shivers attended R. L. Hope Grammar School and was a graduate of North Fulton High School and Auburn University. He retired as Assistant Manager with Norfolk Southern Railway after over 30 years of service and was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Edward Shivers, Jr.

Surviving are his daughter, Lynn Shivers Mouton, Cumming; sister, Martha Shivers Albertson, Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Brent Mouton, Allyse Mouton, Arielle Mouton; nephews, Frank Willcox Wingate, Edward Cartmell Wingate; and best friend, James Sampson.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the service hour.
