Christine "Tine" Norton Chitwood

Christine "Tine" Norton Chitwood, age 66, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

Mrs. Chitwood was born on December 22, 1943, in Banks County, Georgia to the late Noah and Nora Bell Savage Norton. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kevin Dale Hubbard, brother, R.C. Savage, and sister, Susie Jane Roach. Mrs. Chitwood retired from Orbit Manufacturing Company and was a member of Chopped Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Joe Chitwood, Lula, GA; sons, Joe Hubbard, Homer, GA, Fletch Hubbard, Lula, GA, Dwayne Hubbard, Cleveland, GA, and Chester Hubbard, Commerce, GA; step-son, Scott Chitwood, Lula, GA; step-daughters, Jackie Bond, Gillsville, GA, Judy Wade, Baldwin, GA, and Jodi Madden, also of Baldwin, GA; sisters, Beatrice Simmons, Alto, GA, Nolia Simpson, Ellijay, GA, and Geneva Nix, Rockdale, GA; brothers, John Norton, Baldwin, GA, Nathan Norton, Bishop, GA, and Seaborn Norton, Nicholson, GA; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Tim Beasley, Rev. Devin O'Kelly, and Rev. Darryl Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Lula, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
