Bud Chapman

Bud Chapman, 88, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 following a period of declining health. A lifetime resident of Hall County, he was the son of the late Joe and Maggie Little Chapman. He was an Army Veteran and had worked in the poultry industry for the past 30 years. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Scales Chapman.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Allison, Sherry and Harry Norris, Shelia Fleming all of Gainesville; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Reverend Dean Bryant and Reverend Steve Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Chapman will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
