Leona Whitmire Nix

Leona Whitmire Nix, 88, of Clermont, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010, at her residence. A lifetime resident of Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Britt and Nancy Couch Whitmire. She was retired from North Hall High School Lunchroom with over 30 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Nix.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Sammy and Amy Nix of Clermont, daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Mike Eberhardt of Gainesville, grandchildren and spouses; Elaina and Shane Bryan, April and Matt Truelove, Will and Penny Nix, Jamie Gibson all of Clermont, Suzanne Eberhardt of Gainesville, Katie and Cody Rountree of Alexandria, VA, Ali Eberhardt of Gainesville and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Reverend Steve Baker and Reverend Bill Lawson will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Matt Truelove officiating.
