James Archie McPherson

James Archie McPherson, age 58, of Cumming, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010. Archie attended Friendship Baptist Church in Cumming where he was a member of the finance committee, the choir and Sweet Assurance Sunday School Class. He was also a Mason in the Ducktown Lodge #572 F&AM. He was also a girls softball coach for many years where he won many state championships and a 4th place world championship.

Archie is preceded in death by his son, Greg McPherson; his parents, James Monroe and Eula Smith McPherson; father-in-law, Ivan A. McBrayer.

Archie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Rebecca McPherson; daughter and son-in-law, Kasey and Chris Chester; mother-in-law, Elvira McBrayer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charlene Lathem and Barbara and Jerry Bagley all of Cumming. Several Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Byrd, Rev. Bud Sutton and Rev. Donnie McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Ingram Funeral Home.
