Charles Adams

Mr. Charles Adams, 92 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday December 18, 2010 following a sudden illness. Mr. Adams was born on November 17, 1918 I Hall County, Ga to the late David and Lizzie Adams of Gainesville, Ga. He was married to the late Carolyn Smith Adams of Gainesville for 52 years. In addition to his wife and parents, He was preceded in death by brothers John D. Adams, James Adams and Sisters Pauline Walker, Thelma Sosebee and Christine Adams all of Gainesville.

Mr. Adams was a poultry and cattle farmer, He was active for many years in the Farm Bureau Association. He also served in the Army and was a veteran of WWII.

Mr. Adams was a life long member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church where he served as Music Director for many years and was a founding member of the Sugar Hill Quartet.

Survivors include Son and daughter-in-law Doug and Pam Adams of Gainesville, Son and daughter-in-law Ken and Linda Adams of Gainesville, Daughter and son-in-law Shelia and Jerry Riley of Gainesville, Grandchildren Lisa and Mike Martin, Chad and Melanie Adams, Angie and Sandy Pittman, Chuck Adams, Scott and Andrea Riley, Julie and Stan Souther, Brent and Kelly Adams, Adam and Heather Riley, Blake and Kelly Adams, 25 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Paul Morris, Reverend Kevin Shockley, Reverend Mike Mangum will officiate. The internment will follow the service in the Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday December 20, 2010 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to Sugar Hill Baptist Church, 3250 Athens Highway, Gainesville, Ga 30507.
