Donald Gene Taylor

Mr. Donald Gene Taylor, age 78 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday December 15, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Taylor was born November 26, 1932 in Carroll County, GA to the late Emmit Jewell Taylor and Pauline Ivey Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a barber and a real good one at that. Around Atlanta and south he owned at least 10 shops. Always able to make a living, even policing for South Fulton County and Carrolton and part time cutting hair all day. As of November 26, 2010 Mr. Taylor had been a barber for 60 years and 2 months.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army were he served in Korean War. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother Winford Eugene Taylor.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Imogene Spivey Taylor, Cleveland; children, Rocky Donald Taylor and wife Lynn, Cleveland; Tony Gene Taylor, Cleveland; Linda Jane Taylor Butler, Cleveland; sisters, Barbara Ann Hammond, Jane Stewart; brother, Ricky David Taylor; grandchildren, Michelle Stanfield, Libby Taylor, Alizabeth Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Richard Taylor; great-grandchildren, Shane Prestridge, Savannah Prestridge, Alexis Taylor, Amber Taylor.

Till we meet again, we will always love you. Gone but never forgotten.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, December 18, 2010 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Joey Pritchett will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends form 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
