Willie J. Long

Evans Funeral Home announces the death Mr. Willie J. Long, age 72, of Jefferson, who passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Mr. Long was born on July 6, 1938 in Jackson County, a son to the late Hill Allen Long and the late Hazel Pittman Long. Mr. Long drove a gas truck for 36 years, and recently worked as a custodian for the Jefferson City School system. He was a member of the Living Word Worship Center. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Long and his sister, Mary Long Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Long, Jefferson, daughter and son in law, Angie and Ken Parks, Lula, brothers, Rex Long, California, Pat Long, Commerce, Michael Long, Anderson, SC, Tim Long, Jefferson, sisters, Ann Morgan, South Carolina, Hilda Hart, Commerce, Sarah Hardy, Cannon, GA, 4 grandchildren, Amy Roberts, Abby, Thomas and Todd Parks.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 2pm in the Living Word Worship Center with Rev. Dennis Kesler and Rev. Mark Mobley officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery with Kandy Parks, Todd Parks, Thomas Parks, Billy Morgan, Cody Baker, Josh Long and Jacob Long honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
