Rufus R. Humphries

Rufus R. Humphries passed into eternal life with our Lord, Nov. 27th, 2010. He was born in Siloam, TX. Rufus was married to Irene M. Dorn in 1938. They lived a blessed life together for 73 years.

They had two daughters, Mary Ann Collins of Clarkesville, Georgia, her 4 children, and 7 grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and Sharon Kay Garland of El Paso, TX and her son.

Mr. Humphries served his beloved USA in the Army from 1935 to 1958. WWII and the Korean War saw him serve on the from lines of battle. He then retired and worked Civil Service for 17 years in El Paso.

Rufus was a loving, Godly man who helped family, friends, and strangers alike with food, clothing, auto, and home repairs and never charged anyone! He spent the last 5 ½ years of his life at Habersham Home East.

Graveside services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 2:30 PM from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
