Robert "Bob" Smith

Robert "Bob" Smith, age 80 of Demorest, passed away Wednesday, December 01, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Fort Lauderdale, FL on February 07, 1930, he was the son of the late Bernard T. and Teresa Mary Sheridan Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and was a retired truck driver. He was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served in the Korean War. Mr. Smith enjoyed yard work and reading. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Keith Smith; brother and sister-in-law, James and Christine Smith.

Surviving are wife of 31 years, Joanne McGachie Smith of Demorest; daughters, Deborah Ann Smith of Demorest and Terri Renshaw of Toccoa; two grandchildren, Robert William Renshaw and Joanne Lynn Renshaw.

Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 03, 2010 at St. Mark's Catholic Church with Father Jose Luis Hernandez-Ayala officiating. Inurnment will follow in the VFW Memorial Park.
