Shirley B. Ellis

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010 in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home for Mrs. Shirley B. Ellis, 66 of Gainesville. The Rev. Jerry Gill and Dr. Tomas R. Smiley will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.



Born in Cartersville, GA she was the daughter of the late Henry Edward and Ruth Cowart Bell. She retired as a teacher after 20 years from the Hall County Board of Education. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville.



In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Elaine Drake.



She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ralph Ellis of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Steve Brackett and Kristi and Robert Woodward both of Gainesville; son, Steven Ellis of Gainesville; grandchildren, Katie, Wesley and Nick Brackett, Taylor, Molly and Ryan Woodward and several nieces and nephews.



In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Lakewood Baptist Church Building Fund, 2235 Thompson Bridge Rd., Gainesville, GA 30501.
