Nell Lee Duke

Nell Lee Duke, 89, of Cumming, GA died on November 28, 2010 at Northside Hospital Forsyth. A native Atlantan, she was the daughter of the late Walker and Nell Lee. Her beloved husband of 56 years, Lamar Duke also predeceased her.

She is survived by her daughters, Deanna (Wayne) Harris of Houston, TX, Vikki (Ken) Terry of Cumming and Debbie (Bud) Powell of Cumming; son, Dennis Duke also of Cumming: grand children, Ansley Powell, Justin Powell, Bonnie Lee, Doug Terry, Heather Beken, and Lance Harris and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was a long time member of Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church and the Deer Creek Shores Garden Club. She was a true Southern lady, a WWII war bride who made everyone feel special. She lived in Decatur for many years before retiring with her husband to Lake Lanier. She loved and was loved by all children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all whom she called "Baby".

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church in Cumming. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 1 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.
