Herbert Eugene Haney

Mr. Herbert Eugene Haney, age 76, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Fraiser Haney; sister and brother-in-law, Annie Mae and Ralph Wheeler; brothers and sister-in-law, J. Loss and Ruby Haynie and John Henry Haynie; sister-in-law, Mary Thornton Haney; brothers-in-law, Marvin Clark and Everett Berry; and granddaughter, Casey Nikita Reynolds.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Lida Couch Haney, Flowery Branch, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Lamar Watson, Flowery Branch, GA, Donna and Buddy Loving, Flowery Branch, GA, and Dale and Steve Abernathy, Jefferson, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Elaine Haney, Gainesville, GA; nine grandchildren, Ashley Watson and Emily Watson, Christa Reynolds, Philicia Loving, Daniel Haney, Tyler Haney, Justin Haney, Terry Brewer and Tabitha Brewer; one great grandchild, Nathan Montgomery; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Imogene Clark, Sugar Hill, GA and Marie Berry, Buford, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen Haney, Buford, GA, W.C. "Dub" and Sue Haney, Buford, GA and Jesse Lee and Sarah Haney, Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Willene Haney, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Haney was born January 16, 1934 in Buford, GA. He attended Flowery Branch School in Flowery Branch, GA. He was retired from Wrigley's after twenty-three years of service as a security guard. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Vernon, Rev. Loren Hildebrant, Rev. Bill Long and Rev. John Haney. Interment and Graveside Service will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with Rev. Calvin Haney officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 5504 Flat Creek Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 in memory of Herbert Haney.
