George Gordon Peat

George Gordon Peat, age 68, of Dahlonega, GA died November 21, 2010.

Mr. Peat, a loving husband, father, and grandfather retired from Firestone Tire Company. He was an avid fisherman and a master craftsman. He was dedicated to taking care of all his friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandan R. Frost.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Peat, of Dahlonega, son & daughter-in-law, John G. & Mary Beth Peat, of Dacula, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Shelly M. & Lee Contie, of Canton, OH, brother, Bob Peat, of California and Roger Peat of Pennsylvania, sisters, Evelyn Miller and Alberta Prall, both of Pennsylvania, grandchildren, Alexandra R. Frost, Lindsey A. Peat, and Savannah M. Peat. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, November 26, 2010 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park.
