Elsie Mae Rea (Crawford), 93, died on November 13, 2010, in Gainesville, GA.
She was born June 26, 1917, in Munhall, Pennsylvania to John and Mable Crawford. Elsie lived in Munhall until she married Harold Newton Rea in Pittsburgh on August 10, 1940. Elsie and Harold relocated to the Chicago area in 1956 where they raised their 3 children. They moved to Louisville, KY in 1979 and then to Apopka, FL in 1987. Later, Elsie moved to Houston, TX and then became a resident of Gainesville, GA in 2003.
Elsie designed and made ceramic baby dolls and was also an avid doll collector. She had over 600 dolls in her collection. Her other hobbies were sewing and photography. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher. She loved chocolate.
Elsie is survived by her daughters, Ellen Rabeneck (Ken), Rhea Metcalf (Larry) and her son, Bud Rea (Sue) and 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
