Lewis Douglas "Doug" Cunningham

Evans Funeral Home announces the death Mr.Lewis Douglas "Doug" Cunningham , age 86, of Jefferson, who passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Mr. Cunningham was born on February 20, 1924 in St. Paul, Virginia, a son to the late Charles Thomas Cunningham and the late Eva Leah Culbertson Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham, along with his wife Margarite, owned and operated Cunningham's Collectibles in Jefferson. Mr. Cunningham was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII and was a member of the St. Catherine's Laboure Catholic Church in Jefferson. His son, Timothy Cunningham, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Margarite Hennies Cunningham, Jefferson, daughter and son in law, Suzy and Arthur Violi, Ostrander, Ohio, sons and daughter in law, Thomas Cunningham, Hoschton, Dan and Judy Cunningham, Jefferson, sister, Eva Jane King, Castlewood, VA, brother, Paul Cunningham, Virginia Beach, VA, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 11am in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Evans Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
