Thomas J. Davis

Thomas J. Davis, 78, of Dahlonega, GA died on November 20, 2010 at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA. Born in Bacon County, GA he was the son of the late Thomas and Rena Mae Davis.

Mr. Davis has lived in Dahlonega for the last 5 years and was a resident of Cumming for over 40 years. He was a member of Settin Down Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. He loved bluegrass and gospel music. He was a craftsman and loved using his hands. He was a great cook. Mr. Davis loved his family, friends, and his church.

He is survived by his wife, Merline Davis; son, Larry (B.G.) Davis of Dawsonville, GA; son, Gary (Retha) Davis of Powder Springs, GA; daughter, Brenda (Ray) Pugh of Dallas, GA; daughter, Glenda (Scottie) Pope of Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Peggy (Lamar) Allen of Dahlonega, GA; sister, Lattressa Halstead; sister, Retha Brister of Alma, GA; brother, Jack Davis of Alma, GA; brother, Robert Davis of Alpharetta, GA; several nieces and nephews, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home in Dahlonega, Georgia. The Rev. Tony Estes of Settin Down Church will officiate. There will be a visitation from 4:00
