Edward H. "Booger" Smith

Edward H. "Booger" Smith, age 94 of Cornelia, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Habersham Home East following an extended illness.
Born in Screven County, Ga. on January 25, 1916, he was the son of the late Charles and Rebecca Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, retired from Schnadig Corporation and sold peaches from his orchard on Pea Ridge Road for many years. Mr. Smith was a United States Army veteran and was a member of Woodmen of the World, the DAV & VFW, was a CCC Boy. His hobbies included, flying as a private pilot, hard work and was a supporter of the Georgia Baptist Children's Home. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Louise Russum; sons, Charles Edward "Pete" Smith, Raymon H. "Bill" Smith; granddaughter, Rebecca Smith McCann.
Surviving are daughter, Karolynn Smith of Kokomo, IN; daughter-in-law, Jean Smith of Cornelia; son-in-law, Bobby Russum of Cornelia; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 02 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Morris and Rev. Lloyd Free officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-7pm on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that memorial contributions be made to, Georgia Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 329 Palmetto, GA 30268.
