Barbara Alice Guthrie

Evans Funeral Home announces the death Mrs. Barbara Alice Guthrie, age 71, of Jefferson, who passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Mrs. Guthrie was born on August 7, 1939 in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Bessie Woorley Woodall. Mrs. Guthrie was a secretary for 29 years with Otis Elevator and served as the secretary at Maysville Baptist Church, where she was also a member. Her brother, Van Woodall, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, William H. Guthrie, Jefferson, sisters, Mary Ann Turner, Nicholson and Bobbie Dorsey of Jefferson, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11am in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Snedden officiating. The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held on Wednesday evening at Evans Funeral Home from 6-9pm.
