Mrs. Annie Lois Tanner Davenport, 86 of Gainesville died Wednesday November 10, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. Davenport was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Bertie Wallis Tanner. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Davenport was a member of the Chicopee Baptist Church where she also was a member of the Lynn Sunday School class.
She was known as "Mama Lois" by all who loved her and cared for her.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Alton M. "Pete" Davenport, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law; Martha and Mickey Montgomery, Dahlonega; daughter, Beth Davenport, Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Kim and Donnie Akers, El Paso, Texas; sisters-in-law; Jean Tanner, Jacksonville, Fla.; Margaret Strickland and Frances Cheek, both of Gainesville; brother-in-law; Charles Thomason, Columbus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Richard and Pat Davenport, Gainesville. a number of nieces, nephews and special cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday November 14, 2010 at the Chicopee Baptist Church. The Rev. Phil Carpenter and Rev. Doug Collins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Saturday November 13, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
