Charles "Bucky" Kress, age 36, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday November 6, 2010 at 10:00am in the Memorial Park South Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Chuck DeBardeleben will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, November 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Bucky was born on December 3, 1973 to William and Melanie Kress in Concord, North Carolina. He graduated from Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia and earned his degree in Business Management from Valdosta State University. Bucky was a founding member of the Sigma Nu fraternity chapter at Valdosta State. For the past 13 years he was the Vice President of Georgia Stage.
Bucky was married to Robin, his high school sweetheart, on August 31, 1997. They have two precious daughters, Lauren age 10 and Katie age 7. He was a devoted husband, father, son, family member and friend. Bucky was an avid Falcons fan and cherished time with family and friends. His selfless and giving nature provided inspiration and encouragement to all who knew and loved him.
Bucky is survived by his wife, Robin; his daughters Lauren and Katie; his parents William and Melanie Kress; his grandmother Alma M. Camp and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
