John Thomas Wood

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for John Thomas Wood, 55, of Homer. Born in Tampa, FL, he was the son of Matilda Wood and the late J.T. Wood. Survivors, along with his mother, include his children, Stephen Curtis Wood of Florida, Joseph Christopher Wood of New York, Jacob Johnathan Wood of Atlanta and Jennifer Dawn Wood, also of Florida; a sister, Linda Mason of Atlanta; 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at New Covenant Church on Newton Bridge Rd. in Athens with Rev. Howard Conine officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Christian Church Cemetery in Homer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 8 until 9:30 AM and at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.
