Vestal Gilbert

Vestal M. Gilbert, age 89 of Oakwood, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, following an extended illness.

Private graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 12:30 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 11:00 am till 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gilbert was born January 23, 1921 in Dawson, Alabama to the late Joe B. Miller and Fannie E. Worthy Miller. She was retired from Gainesville Radiology and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Vestal was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph B. Gilbert.

Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her daughters, Carol Gilbert of Stockbridge and Deborah Gilbert of Norcross, sons, Johnny Gilbert of Gainesville and Jeffrey Gilbert of Gaithersburg, Maryland, grandchildren, Michele Miller of Gainesville, Michael Gilbert of Gainesville, Nikolaus Gilbert and Jacob Gilbert both of Gaithersburg, Maryland, brother, Charles Eddy Miller of Rainesville, Alabama, sisters, Imogene Gilbert of Fyffe, Alabama, Nellie Sue Murphy of Titusville, Florida, JoAnne Dobbs and Lottie Ruth Croley both of Gadsden, Alabama, great-grandchildren, Natalie Ertzberger, Jimmy Miller and Jon Miller, all of Gainesville.
