He is survived by his wife, Janice Jones of Dahlonega, GA; Children, Johanna Jones Paterson of Key Largo, FL; Julie Jones of Atlanta, GA ; Jill Jones of Atlanta, GA; James "Jay" Edward Jones Jr. and of Suwanee, GA ; sister and brother in law, Betty Zane and Bill Morris of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Danielle Blake and Frank Edward Paterson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Dahlonega United Methodist Church. Dr. Jeff Ross will be officiating.
