Marty Nathan Clark, age 44, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Emory University Hospital following a sudden illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home South with interment to follow in the Memorial Park South Cemetery. Reverend Paul Wade and Dr. Stan Annandale will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 27, 2010, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Marty was born on July 30, 1966, to Don E. (Boots) and Joy Clark at the Hall County Hospital in Gainesville. He was a Johnson High School graduate, attended West Georgia College where he played offensive line on the Braves' football team and, ultimately, earned his degree in Education from Piedmont College in Demorest. He was formerly employed as a teacher and football coach at Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega.
A devoted Georgia Bulldog, Marty truly loved people. His selfless and giving nature provided inspiration and encouragement to all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Marty is survived by his parents, Don E. (Boots) and Joy Clark; brother, Wesley Clark, and sister, Debbie Clark, all of Gainesville.
