George E. Pilgrim

George Ezra Pilgrim, III died October 23, 2010 after a brief illness. He graduated from the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Mr. Pilgrim was in the dairy industry for most of his career and after moving back to Gainesville in 1999 he served as the accountant for Adams Transfer and Storage Company. He retired from Adams in 2008.

Mr. Pilgrim is preceded in death by his parents; George Ezra Pilgrim, Jr. and Lou Rollins Pilgrim, step-mother, Francis Adams Pilgrim and son George Ezra Pilgrim, IV.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Paula Lumpkin Pilgrim, Gainesville; daughter Rollins Pilgrim Caglioni and her husband Michael J. Caglioni of Waleska, Ga., daughter-in-law; Tisha Pilgrim, Sarasota, Fl., brother Jim Pilgrim and his wife Ann, Gainesville; grandsons, George E. Pilgrim, V; Carson James Caglioni, and Tanner Paul Caglioni, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 28, 2010 in the chapel of Mason & Ward Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Hugh Cauthen will officiate. A celebration of life will be held after the memorial service at the club house at Harbor Point on Dawsonville Highway.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to one's favorite charity in memory of Mr. Pilgrim.
