Talmadge Grady Holcomb

Talmadge Grady Holcomb, age 78 of Clarkesville, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Habersham Home West following a brief illness.
Born in Tiger, Ga. on April 02, 1932, he was the son of the late Grady Franklin and Maude Tyler Holcomb. Mr. Holcomb was a member of Mount Airy Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army. He retired from Schnadig Corporation with 43 years of service as a forklift operator. Mr. Holcomb enjoyed fishing, watching the Braves and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holcomb was also preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Marie Addis Holcomb and several sisters.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Buffy Holcomb of Clarkesville; grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Holcomb both of Clarkesville; brothers, James Holcomb and Dewey Holcomb both of Clarkesville; several brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Austin Kelley and Tim Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Davy Harris officiating followed by full military honors provided by American Legion Post #84, Rabun County DAV Chapter #15 and Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Sunday.
