Martha (Reed) Chastain

Ms. Martha (Reed) Chastain, age 67, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at her residence following a sudden illness.

A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Ms. Chastain was born in Jackson County but had lived most of her life in Hall County. She was a lifelong member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church. She owned and operated Chastain's Playschool for several years and also operated Ceramic Treasures and taught ceramic classes for 10 years. She loved her Persian cats and also enjoyed playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Reed and Myrtice (Kennedy) Reed.

Ms. Chastain is survived by a daughter, Lisa Garrett of Gainesville; and a son, Lonnie Paul Chastain, Jr., of Chestnut Mountain; grandchildren, Jessica Whitney Moore; and Richard Blake Moore, both of Flowery Branch; she is also survived by two sisters and a brother.
