Janet Mary Glaze Alexander, age 72 of Warren, Michigan and formerly of Habersham County, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010.
Born in Habersham County on August 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Colston Glaze. Mrs. Alexander was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a self-employed cleaner. She enjoyed photography and yard selling. Mrs. Alexander also enjoyed assisting the elderly and hospice patients. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Glaze.
Surviving are companion of 43 years, Raymond Gratton of Royal Oak, Michigan; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Ron Marek and Vickie and Steve Allen all of Cleveland; daughter, Donna Tench of Cleveland; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren with another on the way.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Monday, October 18, 2010, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Chris York and Pastor Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Saturday and from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday.
