Newil Kinnard

Newil Kinnard, 69, of Dahlonega died Wednesday October 13, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Kinnard was born June 4, 1941 in Dekalb County to the late Charlie and Elizabeth Kinnard. He moved to Dawson County when he was 15 and remained until he entered the Air Force Academy. After his service in the Air Force, he was employed by NCR for 32 years, retiring as a software specialist. Newil moved to Lumpkin County in 1992. He was of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday School for over 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Kinnard, Dahlonega; children, Betsy and Willie Williams, Freedom, OK, Nancy and Robert Williams, Kansas City, MO, Allen and Louise Kinnard, Martin, GA; stepchildren, Angela Jarrard, Powder Springs, Patricia Jarrard, Loganville; brothers and sisters in law, Robert "Bobby" and Susie Kinnard, Dahlonega, Danny and Ann Kinnard, Dawsonville, Eddie and Deborah Kinnard, Watkinsville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 16, 2010 at 3 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Phil Gilstrap and Rev. Ray Prince will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 9 at the funeral home.
