Helen Annette Freeman McCoy

Obituary Date: Friday, October 8, 2010
Helen Annette Freeman McCoy, 75, died October 8, 2010 following an extended illness and was ushered into the presence of the Lord. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was loved by all who knew her.

Born in Jackson County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Freeman.

Helen was a wonderful Christian witness who set an example for those around her. She was a woman of strong character and integrity, with great wisdom, many skills and great compassion. She was a member of only two churches in her lifetime. Prior to her marriage, she was a member of Gailee Christian Church in Jefferson, GA. After her marriage, she became a member of Webbs Creek Baptist Church in Commerce, where she remained an active member until her death.

She is survived by her husband, Hoyt Dean (Dink) McCoy of Dink McCoy Road, Banks County, Georgia; three daughters, Marsha Dean McCoy of Easley, SC, Kim McCoy Orr and her husband Jack of Commerce, GA, and Chris McCoy Bray and her husband Drew of Jefferson, GA; one granddaughter, Ashley Victoria Clary; three grandsons, A.J. Purcell and his wife Brittany, Zach Purcell, and Mac Bray; one brother, Jack Freeman and his wife Jane of Braselton, GA; and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Purcell.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce. A life celebration service will be held at Webbs Creek Baptist Church on October 10 at 3 PM with Mr. Tom Plank and Rev. Wade Lott officiating. Interment will follow in Webbs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Webbs Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Webbs Creek Baptist Church, 647 Webbs Creek Road, Commerce, GA 30529. The family will be at the McCoy homestead.
