Zachary "Bucky" Jerome Pickens

Zachary "Bucky" Jerome Pickens was born on June 22, 1955 to the late Emma Lou Goss and Tate Pickens. He departed this life on October 4, 2010 due to a sudden illness.

Zachary was a dedicated husband and hard working father who enjoyed life to the fullest. He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends. After graduating from Gainesville High School, Zachary joined the U.S. Marines. He returned to Gainesville and was employed by New Holland Mill, Lake Shore Heights Nursing Home and presently Ethicon (Johnson & Johnson). In 1996, he received his degree in Applied Manufacturing Technology from North Georgia Technical Institute.

Zachary is preceded in death by his brother Larry Pickens and sisters Mattie Lou Dowell and Mary Goss Young. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Stephanie Turner Pickens of 30 years, two daughters Courtney Pickens (Darimus) Glasper and Charity Pickens; three grand-daughters Hailey Glasper, Sydney Stephens and Casie Glasper; sisters Beverly Reed, Kelly Goss, Clouis Turner, and Lillian 'Bootsie' Goss; brothers Jeffery (Kemberly) Goss, Leroy (Gloria) Goss, Jerry (Carolyn) Goss and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends and co-workers

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct 8, 2010 from 6-8pm at the St. John Baptist Church, 741 E.E. Butler PKWY, Gainesville, GA.
