Garland P. Barrett

Garland P. Barrett, 90, of Gainesville, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010, Autumn Breeze Assisted Living Facility following a period of declining health. A lifetime resident of Hall County, he as a veteran of WWII having served in the Air Force, a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Berean Sunday School class and a lifetime member of the Elk's Club.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrett is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances Barrett.



He is survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rachel and Carl Smelley of Atlanta; sister in law, Mildred Young, Homer and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Reverend Bruce Fields will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery.
