Clifford Frank Little

Obituary Date: Saturday, September 25, 2010
Clifford Frank Little, 88, of Gainesville, Georgia, died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the N.E. Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Baker and the Rev. Dean Bryant officiating. Mr. Little will lie in state at the church beginning at 2 p.m. before the service. The family will receive friends during this time at the church and in the fellowship hall after the interment at the church cemetery.
Frank loved his family and never met a stranger. During his lifetime, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army during WWII as part of the 39th and 55th service command units. He worked at AT&T, Georgia Power, Chicopee Manufacturing Corp. and retired in Gainesville after 20 years with Ken Edward Enterprises in Atlanta. He was a lifelong member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
His parents, Leonard and Mary Bryant Little, preceded him in death as well as his three brothers, Paul Little, Ray Little and Boyd Little and a sister, Nell Whitmire.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Frances Whitmire Little, daughters and sons-in-law Carole & Ed Winn of Atlanta, June & Paul Martin of Athens, brother and sister-in-law, John Henry & Evelyn Little of Gainesville, brother, Jack Little of Jefferson, sister, Dorothy Sailors of Gainesville, sisters-in-law Virginia Little and Thelma Little of Gainesville. Grandchildren Holly Wade of Dillon CO., Nicole Schmitz of Atlanta, Kate Frances Schneider of Ft. Collins, CO, Natalie Hommes of Philadelphia, PA. and Lacy June Wilhoit of Atlanta. In addition, he has six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews .
