Samuel "Sam" Green

Samuel "Sam" Green, 78, of Oakwood, passed away Wednesday, September 22 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born in Atlantic City, NJ, he was the son of the late Morris and Elizabeth Bird Green. He had worked as the Green Superindendant of the Miami Lakes Country Club and for Con Agra Hatchery.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, and had also served in the Army.


He is survived by wife, Lorna Green of Oakwood; sons Samuel Green and Foster Green both of Oakwood; grandchildren, Valerie Green, Tiffany Green, Daniel Roberts, Katlyn Eden; great-grandchildren, Joseph McDaniel, Ethan Roberts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Roberts.

The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
