Jean Bowers Matthews

Jean B. Matthews, 83 years old, entered into rest on Wednesday September 22, 2010 at her residence after a long battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Matt L. Matthews. Survivors include two daughters, Dian Reaves, (Troy Reaves) of Marietta, GA, her children, Julia Carroll and Arwen Woods, and Cree Lause, (Dr. David Lause) of Augusta, GA, and their children John and Andria Lause and four great grandchildren, Phillip and Ryan Carroll, Allyson Woods, and Alayna Von Plinsky.

She will be remembered as a lively and active woman, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a true friend, who lived life fully.

A private family memorial service will be held Friday September 24, 2010 at the Grace Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends and guest at the residence, 1140 Cumberland Valley Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 on Friday September 24, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
