Hemmon Phillip Moore

Hemmon Phillip Moore, age 61 of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Stephens County Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on September 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Hemmon Patrick and Phillip Inez Pruitt Moore. Mr. Moore was a member of Hillside Baptist Church and attended Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church. He had previously worked for Carwood Manufacturing. Mr. Moore was an avid musician who especially enjoyed playing his guitar. He also enjoyed making others laugh. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was also preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Moore and sister-in-law, JoAnn Moore.
Surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Mollie and General Mote of Baldwin and Reda and Donald Ballew of Alto; brother, John Alvin Moore of Mt. Airy; sister-in-law, Eva Moore of Cornelia; aunts, Ethel Pruitt Luthi of Cornelia and Lillian Pruitt of Mt. Airy; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Avery Mote and Rev. Sanford Kimbrell officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Mote officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Monday and from noon until the service hour on Tuesday.
The family is at the residence of sister, Mollie Mote, 760 Park Avenue, Baldwin, GA 30511.
