Mary Helen Manley, age 89, of Cleveland, Georgia, formerly of Mableton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, at Habersham Home West following an extended illness.
Mrs. Manley was born on August 7, 1921, in Marion County, Alabama to the late Alvia Austin and Chloe Beatrice Snow Lambert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Albert Manley, Jr.; her sister, Edith Stamps; and her brother, Odie Lambert. Mrs. Manley was a member of Burnt Hickory Church of Christ in Marietta, Georgia and attended Church of Christ of Habersham. She was a retired sales manager with the Olan Mills Photography Studios with 35 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Wayne Martin, Cleveland, GA; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Barbara Cunningham, Pensacola, FL; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services for Mrs. Manley will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Martin Davis and Ron Cope officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA with Alfred Donald officiating at the graveside.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
