Daryl Riley Hood

Daryl Riley Hood, age 69 of Buford, GA died Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Mrs. Hood is preceded in death by her parents, Laura Elizabeth Phelps and William Earl Riley, and her sister, Inez Patrick.

Daryl is survived by Richard Hood, her loving husband of 51 years; Children, David & Cheryl Hood, Lawrenceville, Doug & Catherine Hood, Dawsonville, Susan & Blake Gubeli, Utah, Kenneth & Lydia Hood, Flowery Branch; Daughter In-Law Sandra Hood, Buford; Grandchildren, Samantha, Derek, Alyssa, Kelly, Alex, Victoria, Christian, Chelsea, and Ian; Sisters & Brothers In-Law, Janet and Glen Amos, Janice and Michael Raines; Brother & Sister In-Law, Joe & Stephanie Phelps.

Daryl was a substitute teacher at Buford Middle School for many years. She was also employed at Digital Equipment Corporation as a training registrar. Richard & Daryl are owners of D' Hoods Quilts in Buford and were previous members of Hall County Quilt Guild and Gwinnett Quilt Guild. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and she was passionate about sewing, embroidering and quilting. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 17th at 3:00PM at Hebron Baptist Church Chapel, 202 Hebron Church Rd, Dacula, with Pastor Mack Palmer officiating. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to either Hebron Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association in Daryl's name.
