Joseph William Parana

Joseph William Parana, age 76, of Mt. Airy passed away September 7, 2010 at his residence.

Born on April 13, 1934, Mr. Parana was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Alice Woodside Parana. Mr. Parana obtained his degree in Liberal Arts from Penn State University. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Clarkesville and he attended Notre Dame Church in Hermitage, PA. Mr. Parana was an Insurance Claim Representative for 40 years. Mr. Parana had many hobbies with football being his favorite. Mr. Parana is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Irene Parana.

Survivors include his wife Mary C. Parana of Mt. Airy, son Joseph Andrew Parana of Worthington, OH, daughter Beth Ann Parana of Sharon, PA, sister Louise Riley of Balley, PA, and grandson Robert Parana of Clarkesville.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel, 5495 Highway 197 South, Clarkesville, on Friday, September 10, 2010, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Hermitage, PA.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lena McGahee, 170 Thomas Street, Cornelia, GA 30531.
