Mr. Ivan Elliott, 80, of Gainesville, GA passed away Monday, September 7, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Chestatee Baptist Church. The Rev. John Bryant, Rev. Winfred Skinner and Rev. David Skinner will officiate. Interment will be in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson County.
The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A native of Dawson County, Mr. Elliott has been in Gainesville since 1931. He was owner and operator of Ivan Elliott Service Center from 1955 until 1997 when he retired. He was a member of the Chestatee Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Thomas Lenard and Izzie Stowers Elliott. In addition to his parents, Mr. Elliott is preceded in death by his wife, Conofay Long Elliott, son, Christopher Harlan Elliott, sister, Claudine Skinner, brothers, T.L. Elliott, Jr., Eston Elliott, Clifton Elliott and Leary Elliot.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Huel and Debbie Elliott, grandson and wife, Matthew and Pam Elliott, granddaughter, Melissa Elliott, great grandson, Noah Ivan Elliott, brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Wanda Elliott, brother, Edwin Elliott all of Gainesville, several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Chestatee Baptist Church Chestatee Rd, Gainesville, GA 30506 or to Harmony Baptist Church, 1575 Harmony Church Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534-6317
